Investment Bankers

• One Investment Banker - Financial services sector (banking, investment banking, securities brokerage, insurance companies, specialty finance, and others)
• One Investment Banker – Energy sector
• One Investment Banker – Diversified sectors

Responsibilities:

• Origination and execution of variety of deals—IPO, private placements, bond issues, M&A, restructuring, etc.--- in assigned sector.

Qualifications:

• Seven years+ investment banking experience with demonstrated knowledge of corporate finance service lines, capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, valuations, debt and company restructuring and transaction services
• Track record of success in deal execution, negotiation, structuring and origination.
• M.B.A. finance & accounting, economics, engineering or Sciences, CFA, formal credit training, quantitative methods or discipline. Strong financial, analytical and accounting skills. Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

Skills & Others

• Versatility and ability to conduct deal/project end to end.
• Ability to assess the likelihood of completing transaction
• In-depth understanding of emerging markets Africa and ability to articulate its business environment and perspective to investors.
• Ability to advise clients on improving business, taking long-range approach, analyzing, thinking ahead, and planning carefully
• Ability to negotiate mandate, term sheets, syndication and other documents
• Ability to generate cross-selling and manage relationship with clients
• French and/or English required; Spanish/Portuguese a plus.

Research Analysts

Responsibility

• Cover assigned sector, writing reports, monthly notes on the sector, sub-sector or individual companies.
• Assess the worthiness of carefully selected African companies for investment recommendations to the broad investment community, based on factors such as: valuation, growth, management, risk mitigants, timeliness and sentiment etc.
• Support investment bankers with pertinent valuation, risk assessment, projections etc. and take the lead in offering memorandum production
• Research the CEMAC region for trends and sound investment opportunities.
• Assist in preparation of presentations and newsletter as required.

Qualifications

• 5 – 10 years prior experience as an analyst for international investment firm
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or other related fields; MBA and/or CFA preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite ( PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Skills & Others

• Ability to conduct research in imperfect environment (Africa, other comparable regions)
• Experience in securities analysis (either buy- or sell-side)
• Strong analytical and written communications skills
• Motivated, enthusiastic, hard-working
• Capable of working independently, and as part of a team
• Well organized; high attention to detail
• Reliable, consistent; get-the-job-done attitude
• Able to work against deadlines (offering memorandum etc.)
